Author Bio

Creative arts have been the heartbeat of Janet M. Jones' life for as long as she can remember.  The author, actor, singer-songwriter, and motivational artist has had training in violin, piano, acting and classical vocal performance.  An assignment to write an original short story prompted her ninth grade teacher to encourage her to pursue a future in writing.

Janet, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, earned a B.A. degree in English Literature from Morgan State University, and is a member of the Writer's Guild of America-East, as well as the Writer's Center of Bethesda, Maryland.  She contributed an article for the American Glory Complimentary Magazine, sponsored by the East Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, to honor the Tuskgegee Airmen at a 2013 inaugural gala of President Barack Obama.  She also assisted her father, Dr. Milton Holmes, in writing his autobiography, Memories of the Unexpected; the Story of a Tuskegee Airman.

In 2011, her husband, Euvon, was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer, with the prognosis that "his life has been cut significantly short".  Fear weakened her faith in God's purpose for their lives, yet she remained hopeful because of his will to fight, and became a student of his diagnosis. He was encouraged to talk about his physical and emotional pain through the treatment protocol so he wouldn't drift to a place where she couldn't reach him, support him, nor help him.  Her memoir, The Trial of Stage IV Prostate Cancer: A Wife's Case for Faith, Hope, and Help, chronicles their journey through his prescribed conventional medical regimen and her resolve to incorporate a healthy organic/natural diet, as well as restricting their exposure to environmental toxins. It reveals a raw, impassioned, and spiritual approach to an abrupt mighty wind that has spun them into a repurposed life.

Janet and Euvon travel the country with their message of hope through their testimony and music.  Men and their families are encouraged to fight prostate cancer and other illnesses by becoming educated about their diagnosis, and procuring the best medical team possible in that treatment field.  They're also motivated to become proactive in facilitating their health and quality of life by eating healthier, exercising, and restricting their exposure to toxins.  Most importantly, Janet and Euvon inspire others to trust God through the process and Celebrate L.I.F.E. (Living In Full Expectation).
